Prank of Demonetization Becomes True!

Akila, a daily of Gujarat, published a news as a prank on the April Fools Day that the 500 and 1000 banknotes are to be taken out of circulation and also that all need to exchange their old 500 and 1000 notes by June 30. They were printing this news without knowing that this is gonna be true.

But now, after Narendra Modi’s announcement, it looks like “Tadastu Devata” is watching over the paper. Back then, Akila wrote that this decision was made by NDA government to eradicate black money which is exactly the same reason mentioned by Modi for the ban. What a coincidence!

The paper was receiving tons of calls and emails asking if they have already know the fact 6 months ago. The newspaper finally had to publish another news saying that it was purely a prank and no information was leaked to them in the past.
