Pub Culture engulfs Hyderabad

A string of swank pubs, nightclubs and discotheques are cropping up in IT corridor of Hyderabad. The state government’s extremely friendly licensing norms are helping big time for this boom in the number of night-life destinations. Nearly 30 of them have come up in areas such as Jubilee Hills, Film Nagar and Gachibowli since January this year.

However those who extensively use the pubs are not so satisified with the quality they offer. They say Hyderabad Pubs quality is not at par in comparison with their counterparts in other cities such as Bangalore or Delhi. Telangana government’s extensive issuing of licenses saturated the market situation in the city.

Pubs which were earlier known to be the quality ones are also in the rat race with the new ones to survive in the competition and as a result, the quality is on a decline. Further new establishments as such in the next few months will be a risky decision, the existing players opine.
