Suicide Bomber Behind Delhi Blasts?

The twin blasts at Red Fort shocked the entire nation. The explosions in Delhi have left security agencies racing for answers, and the NIA continues to uncover new facts.

Investigators are focusing on Dr Umar Mohammed, accused in the Faridabad terror attack. CCTV footage has placed him under scrutiny, though agencies have not yet confirmed if he was the suicide bomber behind the blasts.

Born in Pulwama in 1989, Dr Umar Mohammed was the son of GH Nabi Bhat and Shamima Bano. His father, a government teacher, quit about a decade ago. Umar studied medicine and completed his MD at Srinagar Government Medical College. He worked as a senior resident at GMC Anantnag before joining AL Falah College in Faridabad as an assistant professor.

Officials say Umar was influenced by terror-related content on social media. Jammu and Kashmir Police recently arrested several doctors with suspected terror links, and Umar was reportedly connected to them.

Umar was close to Dr Adil, his former colleague in Anantnag. Investigators believe he carried out the blasts after panicking over the arrests of his associates.

Following the explosions, the NIA detained Umar’s brothers, Zahoor and Ashiq Nabi, for questioning. Before the incident, Umar told his mother he was studying in the library and asked not to be disturbed. His phone later went off.

Investigators recovered human remains from the blast site and suspect they may belong to Umar Mohammed. DNA samples from his family have been collected to confirm this.

Security agencies also identified three others linked to the Red Fort blasts Tarif Ahmed Malik, Aamir Rashid, and Umar Rashid.
