Reddys Dominate BRS First List

As expected, the BRS party has announced its first list of MLA candidates for the coming elections in Telangana. There’s an interesting observation pertaining to the same.

Interestingly, the first list of MLA candidates announced by KCR has 40 candidates hailing from the Reddy community.

40 of the total 115 candidates are Reddys while 11 are from Velama community. 5 Kamma community leaders and 1 Brahmin contestant are also on the list.

23 contestants are from BC and other reserved seats in the state.

Reports suggest that the Reddys were given the lions share in the allocation as KCR intends to appease the community and keep them away from the conventionally favourite Congress party.

The idea is to keep the community that largely influences the Telangana political landscape by BRS’s side.

Will this strategy work in favor of the BRS party for the coming polls which are under three months from now? We shall wait and see.
