After teasing the people of Andhra Pradesh with a hint on X, Lokesh has now confirmed that ReNew Power will invest Rs 82,000 crore in the state. This marks the company’s return to Andhra Pradesh after five years.
Lokesh posted that ReNew will invest in high technology areas. These include manufacturing solar ingots, wafer manufacturing, project development, green hydrogen, and green molecules. He welcomed Sumant Sinha and his team to the CII Partnership Summit at Vizag.
In 2019, ReNew had planned to invest Rs 22,000 crore in Anantapur. But the company withdrew its plan after YS Jagan cancelled PPAs and reviewed earlier deals. The move caused major disappointment for ReNew.
Now, with the Chandrababu government creating a strong investment-friendly environment, ReNew is returning to Andhra Pradesh. The announcement has sparked positive reactions from industry circles and the public.
