Konda Surekha row boosts Revanth's standing

The Congress party has this culture of divisive politics as we see many senior leaders within the party quarrel amongst themselves. A similar scenario was in motion in Telangana recently, when Konda Surekha came out and started firing at CM Revanth and the Congress leadership itself.

This ended very badly for her as she was removed from the cabinet and is now devoted to a very ordinary position.

This Surekha episode has perhaps added to the political strong hold of chief Minister Revanth Reddy, as he is in a bigger position now. Interestingly, other seniors who had been commenting against CM Revanth have started to silence themselves now.

For instance, we have the case of Komatireddy Raja Gopal Reddy, who had been openly speaking against CM for the last few months. In fact, he himself had publicly, said he wishes to become the CM one day soon.

But after this Surekha, episode, where she faced the significant action from the corrective committee under the leadership of CM Revanth Reddy, Raja Gopal Reddy appears to have learnt his lesson as well.

In his media conference today, Reddy said he never spoke publicly against CM Revanth at a personal capacity and whatever differences they have is purely political on one or two matters. He said, Revanth Reddy had been very favourable towards his constituency and he would certainly stand by Revanth whenever needed.

It turns out to be that Revanth Reddy has been able to correct several Congress leaders with adequate action on Konda Surekha and that’s reflecting in the changed stance of people like Rajagopal Reddy now.
