CM Revanth Reddy is monitoring the situation in Middle East as war erupted after Isreal and USA shot missiles at Iran. The situation spiralled after Iran’s spiritual leader and president Ayatollah Khameini was killed by missile strike.

It is estimated that there are 15 lakh people from Telangana working in the Gulf. Apart from residents, there are many stuck at airports who had travelled yo the Middle East for business or holiday. The Telangana government has started a 24×7 helpline at the Telangana Bhavan in Delhi and is constantly coordinating with the Ministry of External Affairs.

Numbers of various liaison officers have been released by the Telangana government. However, since the air space over Middle East is closed, flying in the Telangana people struck in West Asia is not possible for now.

Many of the residents in the Middle East are from Nizamabad and Karimnagar.

The situation is volatile and the war in the region is being equated to the time the US attacked Iraq which led to the killing of Saddam Hussein.
