The situation in the Middle East had spiralled into a full-fledged war that began with missile strikes. Now, with the death of Iran’s president Ayatollah Khameini, various countries in the Gulf are into the war scene.
In fact, a ship tanker with Indians in the crew has been under attack by Iran. Given the third war-like situation, the government of Andhra Pradesh is taking steps to ensure the safety of Telugus in the Gulf countries. It is estimated that 50000 Telugus live in Bahrain alone.
The Telugu community who mostly work in Bahrain live just 10 km away from the missile strike at the US base. Speaker Ayyannapatrudu is in touch with Indians in Bahrain and has been tracking the developments closely.
He has spoken to the community in Bahrain to ensure the Telugu citizens follow local government’s guidelines and stay safe.
Many from Narsipatnam and nearby areas work in Bahrain. As the war progresses, efforts will be made to bail out Telugus and Indians from the war-prone zones. But the Chandrababu Naidu government is closely monitoring the developments as flying in the Telugus is risky due to ongoing missile strikes in the region.
