Rice Bucket challenge Vs Ice Bucket challenge!

While every one from Microsoft CEO to Bollywood babes are busy taking the ALS Ice Bucket challenge, Hyderabad has got its own desi Ice Bucket challenge called the Rice Bucket Challenge. Manju Latha Kalanithi, a Hyderabad-based journalist came up with the idea of donating a bucket of rice to the poor and needy. Donation of rice – raw or cooked – is the best way to address the needs of the hunger stricken poor in the country.

She let out the hashtag #RiceBucketChallenge on the social networking site and it immediately got very good response from the netizens. The people who donate the bucket of rice can even nominate their friends to take up the challenge. Manju Latha just hopes that some celebrity notices it and takes up the challenge so that the entire drive gets the much needed publicity push.
