Ruling Party Trying To Scare TDP Away from Panchayat Elections?

Ahead of the Panchayat Elections, the Ruling Party is trying to get hold of the political sphere of the state. “The Government is trying to terrify the Opposition with brute force and violence so as to win the elections,” TDP alleges.

TDP cites four examples of such attempts in Andhra Pradesh in the last week. The husband of a Sarpanch candidate in East Godavari was found dead in suspicious condition after they refused to withdraw from the election. TDP alleges that it is a political murder.

In Chittoor, YSR Congress activists attacked the car in which TDP MLC, Dorababu was traveling. It has happened when they were going to file a nomination at Periyambadi village in Yadamarri Mandal in Poothalapattu Assembly constituency in Chittoor district.

This morning, AP TDP President Acham Naidu was arrested in his native village, Nimmada on the allegations of blackmailing a YSR Congress Sarpanch candidate who happens to be his relative. The alleged phone recording is in media and the recording looks like he is requesting more than threatening.

Again this morning, TDP Spokesman Pattabhi was attacked at his home by about ten persons in Vijayawada. He was beaten and his car and cell phone damaged. When he came out of the home. Pattabhi alleges the hand of a minister in this attack.
