Rushikonda Palace, often labeled as a white elephant, is now being considered for transformation into a major tourist hotspot. Leading hospitality brands have shown interest in taking over the property and converting it into a premium luxury hotel experience.
Taj Group, The Leela Group and Atmosphere Core have expressed strong interest in the palace. If the plan materialises, it is expected to position Rushikonda as a high-end luxury tourism and hospitality destination on the national and global map.
The proposed project is likely to boost premium tourism, strengthen global branding, and improve overall investment sentiment in Visakhapatnam. It is also expected to create long-term value for the city’s hospitality and service sectors.
The Chandrababu government aims to position Vizag not only as an AI and technology hub but also as a global tourist destination. Focus is being placed on leveraging coastal assets and premium infrastructure to attract international attention.
Rushikonda is already a popular tourist spot among locals. With luxury brands setting up properties in this seaside neighbourhood of Vizag city, the area could attract global travellers seeking a relaxed and high-end holiday experience.
Premium hospitality brands also attract business travellers, especially senior executives from global tech companies. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s brand image is seen as a key factor in drawing luxury brands that value credibility and long-term vision.
