Sakshi Then And Now: Cheap Journalism On Display

YS Vivekananda Reddy’s Former Driver Dasthagiri’s confession statement is out in the public domain. It has been revealed that the murder has happened for a 40 Crore Supari over a dispute of a land settlement and there is also mention of the involvement of Kadapa MP YS Vivekananda Reddy and others of the YS family.

Sakshi has covered the issue and intelligently avoided the parts of Kadapa MP and YS Family members’ involvement and only tried to portray the murder due to a land settlement dispute. Incidentally, the same Sakshi carried a story called ‘Narasura Rakta Charitra’ before the elections blaming Chandrababu Naidu from Raja Reddy’s murder to Viveka’s.

From tainting the opposition for no reason and for the political gains of the masters to masking an official document available in the public domain, Sakshi has exposed its yellow journalism, TDP criticizes. “”This is not yellow journalism. It is cheap journalism. In fact, we can not call it journalism,” they allege.

“If TDP leaves Sakshi Scott-free even in such serious issues, why they should be worried?” TDP supporters angrily say. They are demanding that the party should file a defamation case immediately on Sakshi and bring it on its knees.
