Say No To Plastic @ AP Secretariat Soon

Plastic has become part of everyday living. Despite various deadlines and say no to plastic drives, people continue to use plastic.

To trigger change, AP government has decided to make Secretariat plastic-free. From August 10, 2025, AP Secretariat will ‘say no to plastic’.

Towards this end, it has said that it will give a steel water bottle to all employees in Secretariat. It said they will be giving reusable bottles to all departments.

The government has given specific orders that no one must get water bottles from outside. In the past, Chandrababu started ‘Say No to Plastic’ programme. The idea was to make cities in Andhra Pradesh plastic free.

However, it remained a mere slogan. Discarding single use plastic was relegated to campaigns. With the new move, looks like the government will be issuing guidelines once again.

The AP government is promoting usage of eco-friendly materials to set an example. They are going for sustainable alternatives from small-scale enterprises to push forward the cause.
