Scientific Analysis Takes Backseat as New Districts Continue to Crop

Telangana government which is claiming extensive scientific research behind the formation of new districts in the state suddenly gave up to political demands in the last minute. The state government in the last minute has announced the formation of four new districts – Gadwal, Siricilla, Janagama, and Asifabad.

The Telangana Chief Minister himself announced that it is not fair to keep the people of those areas disappointed on Dussehra day and so it will be good to announce the districts for them as well. This makes it evident that the districts were formed for appeasing people or satisfying the political clout in the areas. Earlier TRS leaders including the Chief Minister firmly told that these districts are not possible technically.

Important issues like districts formation have to be done only through scientific research and not basing on any other parameters. This structure will stay for generations together and it is a crime to take hurried decisions. The remaining districts were worked up on for months and these districts which are announced in the last minute will also be operational from Dussehra indicating what is happening.

On the other side, Opposition parties claim that KCR had to agree for Siricilla district to benefit his son, KTR in his own constituency and from then, the Chief Minister had to yield for every other demand to avoid unnecessary agitations. In this episode, Congress MLA, DK Aruna has got benefitted as she is portraying Gadwal district as the achievement of her with the resignation threat.
