SIT Issues Notices To KCR In Phone Tapping Case

The Special Investigation Team has issued notices to KCR in the widely discussed phone tapping case. Strong rumours surfaced on Wednesday, and the development was confirmed on Thursday.

The SIT directed the former Chief Minister and Bharat Rashtra Samithi chief to appear before investigators on January 30 at 3 pm. The summons is linked to a case registered at the Punjagutta police station.

According to the notice, investigators stated that KCR is familiar with the facts and circumstances related to the phone tapping case. The SIT said his presence is required as part of the ongoing inquiry.

The notice also mentioned that if KCR is unable to appear at the Jubilee Hills police station due to his age, being above 65 years, he may suggest an alternative date, time, and location. Investigation officers are willing to visit him for questioning if required.

BRS leaders have strongly reacted, claiming that summoning KCR reflects political vendetta. They argue that the move is aimed at targeting their party leadership.

Political analysts remain divided on the impact of the development. Some believe the issue could generate sympathy for KCR ahead of the ZPTC elections, while others feel the Congress may gain politically from the controversy.
