Slight Changes to Telangana District Names

Telangana government has made slight changes to the names of the districts. Official orders are that the existing district names should have the district headquarters names at the end. With that, Badradri, Jogulamba, Yadadri and Rajanna districts have slight name changes.

Badradri Kothagudem, Jogulamba Gadwal, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri and Rajanna Siricilla are the new names. They are notified by the Revenue Department. Komaram Bheem district also underwent a little change. The district names are changed to Kumuram Bheem district basing on the inputs from the historians.

It is known that Telangana government has reorganized the existing 10 districts of Telangana and carved out 21 new districts, taking the total number of districts in the newest state of the country to 31. The districts reorganization is done for the better administration.
