The most recent South Indian state to go for election is Tamil Nadu. The people of Tamil Nadu deliver a strong verdict against the incumbent DMK Government in the election that happened last week.
And just a few days after the announcement of the election result, the DMK is back on the ground as former chief minister Stalin has come out and started a mass outreach program.
The former chief minister launched a new website where the party would be taking feedback from the common public in voice, text, video and PDF format. They have launched a new website to collect all this feedback from the public and assess it later.
While the DMK is so very active with regard to public communication and reciprocal activity with the party cadre, the YSR Congress ecosystem in Andhra Pradesh is miles behind.
It has been nearly a couple of years since the removal of the Jagan government in Andhra Pradesh, and not once did he take the time to take the feedback from the cadreship level.
All the communications from Jagan till now have been one-way traffic. It has been all about Jagan standing on podium and delivering direct messages to the party working leadership. But there has been no attempt to actually take the feedback from the cadres and introspect on this.
Jagan is almost entirely, unilateral when it comes to the method of operations at YCP and that’s clearly to be seen here. At a time when decades old parties like DMK are readily taking feedback from the public and party workers, Jagan who had won 2019 with 151 seats and fell to 11 in 2024 is least bothered about any of this.
