Suicide Nab: Centre to keep tab on acid sales

With acid attack cases increasing every year, Central government is thinking on the lines of making available online data on the sale of acid. The center is in the process of developing a software for online regularization of sale of acid. This software will help government keep a tab on acid sales to persons below 18 years of age.

Also the buyer should have a photo identity card and a register is maintained to track the use of acid. Also the government is planning to pin down the hospitals which refuse treatment for an acid attack victim and such hospital are liable to be punished by imprisonment of up to one year.

The country has witnessed 310 cases of acid attack in 2014 and Uttar Pradesh topped the list by recording the highest number of acid attack cases with 186 such incidents. Coming to our Telugu states, both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh put together recorded 4 acid attack cases.
