Support for Paneerselvam Brewing in Sasikala’s Camp?

The deadlock over the next Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu is yet to be solved. Governor CH Vidya Sagar Rao talked to Sasikala and O Paneerselvam the other day but did not give any indication about his next step. Buzz is that the governor may meet all the 233 MLAs individually before taking any decision.

Meanwhile, his decision may be influenced by the Verdict of the Supreme Court in the disproportionate assets case on Sasikala. On the other side, O Paneerselvam claims that he has the support of 50 MLAs and it is growing every hour. If that is true, neither OPS nor Sasikala will have the majority to form a government.

In such case, President’s Rule and Early elections may come into the scene. On the other side, there are media reports that few MLAs in Sasikala’s Camp are doing the hunger strike in support of OPS. A media report says that Sasikala’s men have even attacked those for the strike.

If all these reports are true, Tamil Nadu Politics can be termed as Very Murky. The popular narrative is that Arithmetic is on Sasikala’s side while People are on Paneerselvam’s side. On the other side, Supreme Court declines urgent hearing of the petition seeking to stop Sasikala from being sworn in as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister.
