Supreme clears way for Hero in AP

Supreme Court today ratified the land allotment of AP government for Hero Motocorp manufacturing plant. With this decks are cleared to the Hero to begin the construction in the 600 acres land allotted to them by the Andhra Pradesh government.

This 600 acres is in in Madannapalem near Sri City SEZ in Chittoor district. A person Kishanlal of M/s Aishwarya Orchids and Plantations claimed the ownership of 600 acres allotted to Hero Motors by the AP government.

Earlier the high court had issued stay on the construction there. The plant coming up at this SEZ will have an annual capacity of 1.8-2 million units and the company is planning to invest 1600 Crore for the plant. This legal tangle delayed the construction by about an year.
