SC on Pahalgam: Don’t Hit the Morale of Forces!

The Supreme Court has rejected a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) for an inquiry on Pahalgam issue. It said judges are not experts in hearing terrorist matters.

The Apex Court said that the times are hard and added that every citizen of the country must come together during such times. It questioned the petitioner if they were trying to hit at the valour and morale of the armed forces.

It scolded the petitioner saying that one must act responsibly during such times. On the advice of SC, the petitioner withdrew the PIL.

It is known that 26 people of which 25 were tourists were killed in Pahalgam in Jammu & Kashmir on April 22.

The PIL requested for a judicial commission headed by a retired judge to be set up to probe into the terrorist attack in Baisaran Valley in Pahalgam. The Resistance Front, an affiliate of the Lashkar-e-Taiba claimed responsibility for the attack.
