Supreme Court Posing the First Major Challenge to Modi?

Supreme Court the other day has pronounced its verdict against BJP Seniors – LK Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, Uma Bharati and 18 others for their involvement in Babri Masjid Demolition Case. The case will be transferred from Rae Bareilly to Lucknow court within four weeks and will be heard on a day-to-day basis.

The court ordered that the case should be concluded within 2 years’ time. This will have huge implications on BJP as those are in the decks are the party leaders. Uma Bharati is currently in the Union Cabinet and opposition will obviously take potshots at the government.

Modi government is almost unchallenged since 2014 victory. This verdict comes as the first major challenge for BJP. But then, BJP sources say they have nothing to lose in this issue as Muslims were never their voters and this will not affect the party in anyways.
