SC Raps Jagan Govt, Cancels Suspension Of ABV

The Supreme Court has canceled the suspension of Senior IPS Officer AB Venkateswara Rao. The court has asked the state government to take him back to the service.

The apex court confirmed that suspension can not be extended beyond two years. It has refused the state government’s SLP over a similar judgment in the AP High court.

The supreme court asked the government to show evidence for the extension of the suspension in the alleged irregularities in the purchase of equipment in the past government.

The state government informed the court that it is seeking the same from the central government. The court said it can not accept it as a reason after two years.

AB Venkateswara Rao is the intelligence chief during Chandrababu‘s regime. Jagan always believed that he is acting against the interest of the YSR Congress.

He has been under suspension for the past two years ever since the YSRCP came into power.

Most likely the government will take him back and will try to put him in some insignificant post without considering his seniority.
