T-Hub Becomes Too Costly for Startups

T-Hub, India’s largest incubator for start-ups launched in November 2015, has celebrated its second anniversary on Sunday. The incubator which started with the motto, “Walk in with an idea and walk out with a product” has become pricey for entrepreneurs.

T-Hub in these two years has increased the cost for one desk from Rs 5,500 to Rs 7,000 exclusive of taxes. Introduction of GST further increased the burden. This is taking a heavy toll on the start-ups which are already struggling with the finances to fund their projects.

In the past two years in its incubator channel, T-Hub has hosted 250 start-ups. About 190 start-ups moved out, mostly due to the financial problems. To save their image, the start-ups have cited expansion plans as the reason for move-out.
