T-Survey makes a dead man alive!

Telangana government’s prestigious Intensive Household Survey is intended to weed out bogus beneficiaries of various welfare schemes but the survey seem to be doing exactly opposite. The incident happened in Ramnagar. In the new Food Security cards introduced by the government, Rajaboina Ramaswamy’s name featured on the card but the names of his son, Tirumalesh and his family is missing.

Interestingly, Ramaswamy was dead way back in 2011 but has got the government’s help now. Where as Tirumalesh and his family who are receiving ration from the last seven years are now running around the civil supplies offices to get the names added.

There are several such cases where beneficiaries who have been receiving government’s help for several years are now hopelessly running around government offices to know the reason of their removal. Government says there were 91.84 lakh ration cards in Telangana for 84.20 lakh houses. So the authorities struck off around 12 lakh ration cards and 70 lakh individual beneficiaries from the list.
