At a meeting of chief counting agents held on Friday at the TDP office in Mangalagiri, the newspaper ‘Sakshi’ falsely reported that TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu was present, despite his non-attendance. This led to a hard slamming of Sakshi by TDP leaders.
The leaders announced that they have lodged a complaint against ‘Sakshi’ with the Press Council of India.
They accused the ruling YSRCP of trying to mislead the public with such false reports, particularly in light of a criminal case filed against government advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy for making provocative remarks to YSRCP polling agents out of fear of losing the election.
In a press conference on Saturday at the Mangalagiri party office, MLC Ashok Babu clarified the situation. He stated that during the meeting of chief counting agents, Chandrababu Naidu was in Hyderabad and party state president Atchannaidu was absent due to ill health.
The meeting was attended by Ashok Babu, former ministers Yanamala Ramakrishnudu and Palle Raghunatha Reddy, retired IAS officer Krishnayya, and former SERP CEO Krishnamohan.
Ashok Babu criticized ‘Sakshi’ for reporting that Chandrababu Naidu attended the meeting and spoke, calling it a disgraceful and shameful act.
