TDP Focuses On Young and Educated in Local Elections?

Telugu Desam Party seems to be infusing young energy into Vijayawada Politics in the run-up to the local elections. The party is going to field Kesineni Swetha as Vijayawada Corporation Mayor Candidate. She is the second daughter of Vijayawada MP, Kesineni Nani.

She campaigned intensely for her father in the last two elections. Swetha studied in the United States and also campaigned for Hillary Clinton in the US Presidential Elections. Since Vijayawada is known to be the home for politically vigilant people, TDP is hoping that an educated candidate like Swetha will impress the audience.

This election will also gauge the impact of the Three Capitals’ idea on Telugu Politics. TDP is hoping that the people of Krishna and Guntur districts will outrightly reject the Ruling Party’s idea and overwhelmingly vote for the Opposition Party Candidates.

However, the major challenge is the lack of coordination between the TDP leaders in the district. Nani does not have the best of the relations with the remaining leaders in Krishna district. It has to be seen how they come together and ensure the victory of Kesineni Swetha.
