TDP Mahanadu In Ongole: Good & Strategic Choice

Telugu Desam Party has a rich tradition of holding grand Mahanadu events every year on 27,28,29 April, marking Sr NTR’s Jayanthi. But for the past two years, in view of Covid, the party had been holding virtual Mahanadus.

But for the first time in 2 years, TDP is holding a proper Mahanadu offline and this is the first time they’re holding the conclave after 2019 elections. The party is holding the event in Ongole. This is a strategic move.

In the 2019 election, TDP won 3 MLA seats in Prakasham district and this is one of the better performing segments of TDP in the 2019 elections. Now, TDP has planned a Mahanadu in Prakasham’s Ongole.

With a grand Mahanadu here, TDP has the prospect of displaying the YCP government’s anti-incumbency on the big stage and this might give the party much needed momentum ahead of 2024 elections. This will also boost the cadre morale in South Andhra and Rayalaseema districts.
