YSR Congress leaders attacked the TDP Office in Mangalagiri in October 2021 to please YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. But little did they know the case would come back to haunt them and the party after three years.
With the new Government in place, the case got fast-tracked. The party’s existence in the Guntur district is in trouble now.
Former Bapatla MP Nandigam Suresh is already in jail in the same case.
Many second-rung leaders and Corporators were arrested and a few got bail.
Many big leaders have got anticipatory bail and have gone into hiding. As a result, the cadre is confused.
As many as forty leaders have applied for anticipatory bail in Guntur Court indicating the seriousness of the issue.
About a hundred YSR Congress cadres and leaders were involved in the attack and they were captured on CCTV. There are many who were indirectly involved as well.
The situation is that almost every leader and notable party worker is involved in this case directly or indirectly.
Along with this case, defections are also hurting the party. Former MLAs – Maddali Giri and Kilaru Rosaiah already left the party. Jagan’s close-confidante Mopidevi Venkata Ramana also resigned as MP and will be joining TDP soon.
In every possible way, the party looks to be in shambles in the district.
