Techies to give GHMC elections a miss

The techies of Hyderabad seem to be totally disconnected with the ongoing GHMC elections hungama. In 2009 elections, the city’s IT belt recorded very low voter turnout. Things do not seem anything rosy even this time.

The IT hub of the city forms a significant vote bank of more than five lakh voters spread across 11 wards in GHMC. All the political parties did not reach out to techies until now and are more focused on reaching out to poor and middle class electorate.

The parties feel that the IT Junta can not be wooed with freebies and social welfare schemes. They feel this educated class of voters have their own notions of parties and that can not be changed. Going by the indication, Techies seem to be missing participation in the crucial civil polls.
