Misplaced Priorities: 222 Cr Bathukamma Sarees, 77 Cr for Hyd Roads

Record Level Rains have battered Hyderabad this month and the rainfall is definitely unexpected. But the government is totally unprepared which resulted in people experiencing hell on roads due to waterlogging, potholes, and traffic jams.

But then, the government is keen only on tall talks and little action. The best example of the misplaced priorities of the government is that it has spent a whopping 222 Crore for distributing sarees for women during Bathukamma festival.

But then, only 77 Crore is earmarked for the repair of roads in Hyderabad City. A paltry 77 Crore will mean that it is going to be a temporary arrangement and the roads will be battered once again by the next spell of rains.

Until and unless government realizes the necessity of Infrastructure development, things will barely change. But then, politicians are just behind mindless populism to appease the voters and convert them into their vote banks. But in the process, a Golden Goose like Hyderabad is being killed.
