'T' Consumer forum remains headless

More than an year of its existence, Telangana State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (TSCDRC) is yet to get its president appointed. The forum which helps consumers to fight for their rights, have nearly 2000 cases pending with them waiting to be disposed.

The forum in the absence of a President, is only limiting itself to numbering the appplications. Builders and big companies that have lost cases at district forums, are getting a stay from the high court, taking advantage of the fact that there is no one to hear cases at the TSCDRC.

There is no relief for the consumers have even approached the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission and won cases. President of the state forum had to issue orders to release cheque payments and so the consumer problems are totally left in air in the new state.
