Telangana may not have an official song!

Several songs have injected the much needed fire and enthusiasm in the Telangana agitators when the separate state movement is peaking up. Songs like ‘Jaya Jayahe Telangana’, ‘Podusthunna Podhu meedha’ were highly popular among Telangana people and many have thought one of those particularly Jaya Jayahe Telangana penned by lyricist Andhesri will be adopted as the official state of the song.

But even months after the TRS formed the government in the newest state of the country, the song did not get the official status. It is also said that the Chief Minister KCR in few of the private programs was seen instructing the organizers to skip the song as he does not want to give it the impression of the official song.

According to sources close to the chief minister, K Chandrasekhar Rao sees no need for a state song and is currently concentrating on much pressing problems like Power shortage and Farmers suicides etc. On the other side, K V Ramana Chary, advisor, culture, to the Telangana state government simply kept it quite by saying the government is yet to take any decision on this regard.
