Why is Telangana Second in EODB Rankings?

The newest state of the country, Telangana has registered remarkable improvement in the Ease of Doing Business Rankings released by Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) along with the World Bank. Both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have scored 98.78% score in this competition. AP is put in the first rank while Telangana is at the Second Position.

There is a lot of discussion going on in social media. Some say Andhra Pradesh is ranked One because it is better placed in last year’s rankings while some say AP is placed first due to Alphabetical Order. But both the arguments are not true. AP has got ‘Yes’ to 325 parameters in the competition while Telangana got ‘Yes’ to 324.

Andhra Pradesh score is 98.784% while Telangana Score is 98.780%. Andhra Pradesh lost the 0.004% in rounding off while puts AP and Telangana in the same spot in the rankings. But then that extra decimal and the extra YES it has got, has given Andhra Pradesh the first rank. It is really a proud moment to see Telugu States at the top of the ladder.
