Telangana eyeing an All-Time Record Power Demand?

Telangana is starting at a highest-ever power demand this summer. Telangana Transco expects the demand to touch 10000MW which will be an all-time record. The Power demand had already touched 9000MW owing to increased temperatures and increased demand from domestic and farm sector.

According to the estimate by Telangana Transco and Discoms, the demand is likely to touch 10000MW. Since TRS government came to power, the domestic sector in Hyderabad and elsewhere in Telangana by imposing power cuts in commercial and agricultural sectors.

But then this year challenge is going to be even bigger. Transco and the discoms are looking at resorting to extensive purchases from private power generators to meet the demand. Transmission lines to bring power from Chhatisgarh are also ready but then it has to be seen how much load the existing network can handle?
