Tension at AP’s interim secretariat

An unexpected accident occurred at Andhra Pradesh’s Interim Secretariat. One worker accidentally fell down in Concrete mixing machine and died on the spot. The demised worker is reportedly from Uttar Pradesh. Police tried to shift his body from the spot and that irked the other workers working there.

The workers reportedly pelted stones on the Police even set on fire some vehicles. It is not known if the workers are agitating for compensation or other demands. This is the second instance of such accident at the construction site. L&T and Shapoor Pallonji are the companies executing the project.

The state government is keen to complete the construction of the interim secretariat and shift the administration from Hyderabad to Amaravati by June 27th. The construction companies are deploying workers in three shifts and are working round the clock to complete the construction on time.
