The Buzz Behind Ghanta’s Sacking

Ghanta Srinivasa Rao, the strong man from Uttarandhra joined Telugu Desam Party before 2014 elections. Ganta and his men comfortably won the elections and he went on to become the Education Minister in Naidu’s cabinet despite the resistance from other TDP leaders of the region.

Ganta Srinivasa Rao is a very influential leader in the region and it is established by the fact that he wins through whichever party he represents. Moreover, he comes with a package of other strong leaders who will exert their influence all over Uttarandhra. But from the last few months, there are rumours in the political circles that Ghanta may lose his berth in the next expansion.

The rumour mills are also rife that he will be shifting to YSR Congress. While no one can really confirm this development, for now, Political Experts see all the possibilities. “Party Jumping is not new for Ghanta. But then circumstances are not in favour. With Two years to go, he may not change the party immediately even if he loses the ministry,” one expert says.

“Chandrababu is very aware of Ghanta’s capability. I do not think so he will lose him. He will never do that if it benefits Jagan Mohan Reddy. Ghanta’s removal is very unlikely. The stringent action if Naidu is not happy will be moving him to an insignificant portfolio. The probability that happening is also not that great as far as what I have seen in Naidu,” opined another.
