The Peculiar Tale of Two Telugu CMs in Corona Crisis

Corona Crisis has ensured the comparisons between the Chief Ministers of both the Telugu Chief Ministers. While KCR is instilling confidence in the people with his assuring Press Meets, Jagan struggled and all of his Press Meets contained some or the other bloopers giving a field run to the trolls.

Jagan finally had to resort to releasing recorded and edited press meets and even then, the trolls still found material. Then comes the testing part of the Corona Pandemic. KCR Government squandered all the good-will it has got with the poor handling of the testing. The state government is doing ridiculously low testing of 150-170 tests per day. The lowest in entire South India.

At the same time, Andhra Pradesh Government claims that it has crossed the One Lakh Tests to date by Friday morning, one of the highest in the country. The Government says that it is doing the highest number of tests per every million population in the country.

While many criticize the KCR Government of doing less testing, there are many others who do not believe Andhra Pradesh Government’s numbers. They are of the opinion that the Government is either using Rapid Test Kits (known for their unreliability) or intentionally bloating the numbers for the sake of optics. So, both the Chief Ministers have peculiar problems in this Crisis.
