The truth and Center's daylight cheating!

The Union Minister of State for Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation Prof. Sanwar Lal Jat in a written reply in Rajya Sabha the other day revealed the facts about Polavaram project. There is full confusion regarding this project as the state government claims the center is not releasing in funds while AP BJP leaders claim the state government is not submitting the bills for the expenditure.

According to the reply by the minister, the center had to bear all the expenditures beyond April 1st, 2014 as per the Provisions of Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act, 2014. The state government incurred expenses of 439.98 Crore in 2014-15 and Upto 1991.33 Crore till September 2015 from its pocket.

Out of this, the center so far had only reimbursed 345 Crore. Which means the center did not even reimburse the expenditure incurred by the state government in 2014-15. The center will not give funds while the cash strapped state government can not afford to invest which is delaying the project works. At this rate, the goal to complete it by March 2018 will be a distant dream.
