Several countries including India have stopped International Flight Services to combat Coronavirus scare. There is no clarity when the operations will begin given the uncertainty around a possible cure or vaccine for the contagious virus. However, Dubai-based Emirates may have shown a way for the future.

It has begun carrying out COVID-19 blood tests on passengers at the airport prior to flights. It has performed Rapid COVID-19 Blood Tests on Wednesday at Dubai International Airport, with passengers on a flight to Tunisia all reportedly tested before departure.

The results were available within 10 minutes and only then, the passengers were allowed to board the flight. Emirates claims to be the world’s first airline to conduct such tests. Probably, it is how the international flight operations going to be until a vaccine is found.

Probably, it is the only way to operate flights in this uncertainty. According to the analysis of The International Air Transport Association, this crisis will see airline passenger revenues drop by $314 billion in 2020, a 55% decline compared to 2019.
