Nellore Becomes a Cake-Walk for Narayana!

After losing the election in the Nellore Urban segment to Anil Kumar Yadav by a narrow margin, Ponguru Narayana has maintained a low profile in politics for over two years. However, the Jagan government has been making unsuccessful attempts to bring legal charges against Narayana in order to keep him away from politics.

The YSRCP believes that these cases will deter Narayana from participating in politics. Recently, Nellore TDP leaders met with Chandrababu Naidu to discuss Lokesh’s Yuvagalam. In that meeting, Naidu clarified to party leaders that Narayana will contest again from the Nellore Urban constituency.

Three aspirants from the Jana Sena party are also eyeing the Nellore Urban segment. The Jana Sena cadre is confident that if the party is assigned the Nellore Urban seat, they can win due to the victory of the PRP in the same segment in the 2009 elections.

Meanwhile, differences within the YSRCP have escalated to an extreme level. Former minister Anil Kumar Yadav, who won the election in 2019, has alienated many people. It is reported that these differences have even reached a point where they could potentially harm the ruling party’s prospects.

During his tenure as a minister, Anil Kumar did not consider the opinions of others, boasted in assembly meetings about completing the Polavaram project in one year, and later shifted the blame to the coronavirus when it was not completed. Narayana’s development work in Nellore city and the YSRCP government’s alleged harassment through baseless accusations have garnered sympathy from the public.
