One of the major problems faced in holy shrine Tirupati is the VIP recommendations system which leaves normal devotees in serpentine queues for hours together. However Chandra Babu Naidu government wants to abolish the entire VIP culture phase by phase. The recommendation letter system for VIP break darshan takes place every hour in Tirupati which denies the darshan of 5000 devotees per hour.
Following Chandra Babu’s directive, the TTD had already restricted VIP break darshan from the current count of 3500 to 800 persons in a day. Government has directed TTD to issue the 300 Rupees online for people to plan their darshan in advance and thus avoid waiting time. Once this comes in to force, TTD will eliminate VIP letters phase by phase. Chandra Babu already issued a circular to all the ministers to discourage VIP recommendation letters.
