TRS unleashes hoardings trap on Hyderabad

With GHMC elections scheduled for January next year, the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti is making swift moves to make its presence felt in the capital city. The ruling party is erecting a series of hoardings, large and small, highlighting the government’s programmes for city and state.

Rest of the parties are expected to hit the streets after the announcement of Warangal by-election result. The GHMC polls are very prestigious as Hyderabad being the state capital. GHMC’s jurisdiction covers 24 assembly constituencies, the elected corporators will also play a vital role in the next Assembly elections.

This is also the hardest contest for the ruling party since TRS just managed 3 MLAs here in the last elections. TDP-BJP combine managed majority MLAs with the help of the settlers. Hence the ruling party is encouraging defections from other parties to strengthen itself here.
