Tv9 gets second chance but ABN?

Popular Telugu channels Tv9 and ABN have been taken off the air for nearly five months and several protests have been made to restore channels including a discussion brought on media freedom in Parliament. But T-MSOs had to give to up on Tv9 ban when TDSAT (Telecom Disputes and Settlements Appellate Tribunal) ordered them to lift the ban and asked channel to follow the the programme code not to hurt the feelings of the public.

Tv9 ban is now partially lifted in Telangana as one of the two major share holders Siti Cable is yet to restore the channel programs. The other major Hathway network started telecasting Tv9.

Interestingly ABN which did not broadcast any defamatory program like Tv9 is still facing the ban in Telangana. It is known that ABN MD Radhakrishna is fearlessly fighting for the channel and questioning KCR through his print media. ABN team held a protest at media point at Assembly today demanding the immediate lift of blockade.
