Ramayana Title Change on BookMyShow
Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana is arriving at the theatres next week. Notably, the movie was marketed as Namit Malhotra’s Ramayana for a long time, and even BookMyShow mentioned the same name.
But now the situation has witnessed a new change since Namit’s name has been removed from the main title and BookMyShow is displaying the name as Ramayana. As of now, the makers have maintained silence on the matter, and further updates are currently awaited.
Notably, the title Namit Malhotra’s Ramayana was already leading to a lot of discussions on social media, with a section even criticizing the makers, stating that it should be renamed as Valmiki’s Ramayana.
The latest development also made people question the move of the makers. However, a large section on social media believes that Namit is trying to save his film from sinking at the box office since it has already landed in a lot of trouble over the last few days due to the controversial comments made by Sai Pallavi and Rakul Preet Singh.
Netizens also believe that since the trailer and the marketing strategy have disappointed a lot of people, the makers are now doing their best to ensure that the audience forgets about those issues and books their tickets as soon as possible.
On the other hand, some others refused to believe that it was a move by the makers. They instead claimed that it could be a technical issue and that possibly the original name would be back on the platform in the next few days.
Amid the ongoing debate, all eyes are on whether the headlines created by the film over the last few months will work in its favour, bringing some good collections at the box office. The advance booking has been decent so far in India, and a big opening is expected on November 5, 2026.
