Uber banned in Hyd, scrutiny on all Cabs

In the light of Delhi rape assault occurrence by Uber Cab driver, Southern city Hyderabad has become second to ban the online Cab service. Uber is under spotlight for hiring a driver with rape background. Yadav attempted the rape on 27 year old Executive in Delhi recently. This shocking incident came as an eye opener to check on all other Cab service providers and nearly twenty other Cab services are likely to be banned in Delhi.

Telangana Transport Department launched a crack down on illegal Cabs running in the city. A detailed verification check is happening on Cabs to find out if they are registered with Transport department. Shockingly, Uber did not even register with Hyderbad Transport department to operate their service in the city.

The department has requested public not to use any form of Uber service including web apps. With Delhi and Hyderabad banning Uber, of the 11 Indian cities it operates in, Uber has struck out in two of them already.
