US and India To Employ Completely Different Approach For Cinemas

Cinemas across the globe are running empty for more than a month now due to the Coronavirus Pandemic. The normalcy is not seen in the near future and the Cinema industry is staring at a blank future. There are speculations that Cinemas would be last in the list to open in India after the Lockdown is eased.

However, the United States is taking a completely contrasting approach. The Trump administration is looking to ease the Shutdown in three phases and under the guidelines released by the White House, movie theaters could be one of the early beneficiaries.

Cinemas would be allowed to reopen in the first of three phases. The plan released by the White House didn’t include a timetable. The Governors of the States will decide when their states are ready to take the first step depending on the local conditions.

This will come as a huge relief to Cinemas in the United States. The situation is so bad that there are estimations that the country’s biggest cinema chain, AMC Theaters would exhaust all its cash by June and will go bankrupt even things do not favor it after that.
