
Former minister and YSRCP leader Vallabhaneni Vamsi got a shock on Monday. He had walked out on bail after spending 137 days in jail. Police arrested him over the attack on the TDP office in Gannavaram and the kidnap of witness Satyavardhan.
On the same day, two of his followers, Vajrakumar and Telaprolu Ramu, surrendered in court. There have been allegations about their role in the Satyavardhan kidnap case for months. Police filed cases against them earlier. The Vijayawada SC, ST Court sent both to remand.
The court ordered them to remain in custody till December 15. One can see the case tightening around Vamsi’s circle. His release and their arrest happened within hours, drawing fresh attention to the investigation and its next steps.
During the YSRCP term, Vamsi and his followers attacked the TDP office and damaged furniture. It is known Satyavardhan’s family filed a case soon after police say the group later kidnapped him and issued threats, forcing him to support Vamsi.
