Venkaiah Naidu's Mega help to AP

Venkaiah Naidu is the one who takes hits from everyone as a punching bag after the center is delaying the Special Status as promised earlier. But the fact is Venkaiah doing all that he can in his domain for the state. The other day, Ministry of Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation headed by Venkaiah had approved construction of 2,28,204 houses for urban poor in five states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and Rajasthan.

The central government will provide an assistance of Rs.3,231 cr for 2.28,2014 hourses @ Rs.1.50 lakh per each house. Andhra Pradesh walks away with the major share of houses – 1,93,147 houses in 37 cities. The second in the list is Gujarat with 15,580 houses in 4 cities. Telangana is third in the list with 10,290 houses in 10 cities.

This is also a significant help to the state government in the state as the state is embarking on a Mega housing project for the poor. The state government had to provide land for these houses and the rest of the cost involved.
