Massive Setback for Vijay, CM Swearing-In Cancelled

It was supposed to be the day everything finally fell into place for Vijay and his party Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam. Instead, it turned into a day of confusion, reversals, and a very public massive disappointment.

Reports began circulating that Vijay could take oath as Chief Minister as early as 11 a.m. on Saturday. For a party that had emerged as the single largest force, it looked like the final step was close.

Vijay met the Governor on Friday evening, marking his third meeting overall.

But within an hour, everything started to change.

Allies who were expected to extend support began to change their stance. What looked like a clear path to power quickly turned uncertain.

Then came the bigger embarrassment. Questions were raised over support letters, and conflicting claims started surfacing on TV. Allegations of fake letters and possible horse trading added to the chaos.

The expected oath ceremony narrative collapsed almost instantly.

By night, the focus had shifted completely and it was confirmed that his oath ceremony had been cancelled.

Adding to this, there was visible mockery online. Many pointed out that repeated meetings with the Governor without firm numbers only weakened the perception of control. It gave the impression of desperation.
